Shottle Hall Styled Photo Shoot

At the end of March, I was involved in the planning and photographing of a wonderful styled photo shoot at the beautiful wedding venue Shottle Hall.

Myself and Helena from Pretty Hearts spent a couple of months putting our heads together to bring this incredible day together with some top class wedding suppliers and the most amazing models. Here are just a small selection of some of my favourite photographs from the day. Massive thank you to everyone involved, if you are planning a wedding and still on the look out for suppliers, I cannot recommend this team higher…the details for everyone are at the bottom of this blog post.

I’ve been a wedding photographer for over 10 years now and I’ve never done a styled photo shoot, I’ve never made the time and it’s safe to say…I’ve got the bug! Once wedding season is over this summer, I will be planning another styled shoot adventure. It’s such a great way of spending time with suppliers you never get more than 5 minutes to chat to at a real wedding or wedding show.

The great thing about this photo shoot was that each and every supplier bought the things they loved the most to the day, of course we had the best backdrop – Shottle Hall. The weather was a little dodgy…not a problem at Shottle Hall, although the views and gardens are perfect, there is no need to venture out of the buildings, they are full of pretty areas and huge windows for lots of lush natural light. Jamie and myself documented everything coming together and had an awesome time capturing Leah and Russ being perfect together. It was Helena from Pretty Hearts that chose the gorgeous navy and gold theme, then everyone else styled using their own creativity and knowledge to compliment it, the flowers were simply perfect from Enchanted Rose, the centerpieces, chair covers and decorations from Gemma at Gemma White works seamlessly with Helena’s place names and table numbers, the Cake looked good enough to eat from Claire Taylor’s cake designs! Michelle from Allison Louise Bridal and Jess from Jon Paul Menswear put together 3 different dresses and suits, Michelle even bought along stunning headpieces and Jess provided Shoes for Russ. Sam from Life of a beauty girl and Rosie from Rosie Moore Hairdressing literally just did their thing on Leah with make up and hair and of course not forgetting Shropshire Petal’s epic confetti, we had right good fun with this!
